I Will Post More Than Just Programming

I’m thinking on changing the main topic of this blog.

I’ve been thinking on what to do and I have not decided yet. This blog started as a Programming Blog but at this point I’m not sure which direction to take.

I’m thinking on creating a blog with advice on how to be productive, share my best tricks to success but I’m not sure.

This little post will just inform you what is coming up.

I may change my mind, I don’t know, I might just post about different topics including programming. I think that is the best way to explain this post. Expect more than just programming.

I’m also thinking on adding pictures to my post, let’s see how it goes.

Re-Organizing Personal Time Again, Less Blogs

Hi there, I will again maybe put the blog on pause again. On pause until I find how many hours a week I need for the blog and once I create a system to consistently put updates in a organized way.

This time is not that I have another thing to do, this time I’m about to put the blog in pause just because I want to do less and enjoy more.

Personal anecdote, for years I have been trying to do to many things and the same time, and as I read in recent post and I can verify myself sometimes when you do something and not complete 100% what you do is a waste of time. At some point of my life I did a change, I started doing less and focusing more in what I was doing with great results and this time I’m doing a step further into this way of see things and projects. This time I plan to do even less and focus more in just one or two things and also enjoy that one or two things that I choose to do. Be happy at any time of the day no matter what I do. So that, blogging is in my list I have so many ideas but as I said I need a calendar and a way to organize my time with a 100% commitment to do it so I don’t have the calendar yet but that is how is going to be.

Installing RSS Client on 2017. Really?

Yeah, I know most people use Facebook as a main feed for news and articles, there is also articles in LinkedIn, Twitter and news web sites, in my case I been using twitter to get to know about what people is working on and get ideas for projects. Blog post I think are found by google searches for the most part but I just wanted to follow up blogs in a more organized way to see what people does to get inspiration and ideas, really I don’t want to miss on the people that I’m interested.

Is not that I’m going to read everything but most of the time people don’t post they blog on twitter and you may miss post, will try for a while to see how it goes.

By the way, this is the app http://www.feeddemon.com/

Installing Xamarin

I’ve been curious on xamarin for a little while, for some reason I was not sure about that technology, I think my main reason to no go with the Xamarin was because of the responsive design apps. I tend to think that is most likely to ha a chance to program a responsive design app than a native app.

As I said I just took some action on getting the installer from the main site which is own by microsoft, this is the download page in case you are interested. https://www.xamarin.com/download

I will share some of my projects in later post, just wanted to post a note for my records on when I started programming in Xamarin

iBoy Trailer Is Ready, Will Be A Netflix Movie

Hi there, This year started reading the book iBoy I already finished it. I’m not gonna do a book review because I’m still working on a style to do so but what surprised me about this book is to see that the movie is about to be released.

I remember that a few days ago I actually did a research for the movie trailer when I just finished reading the book, I found the trailer below which is non a official trailer, I guess is just a teaser and the moview wasn’t ever made (i believe) but I liked, this is the link of the teaser that is on Youtube since 2014  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiltgKuXIJU

Now, that was just a teaser, below is actually the real trailer for the movie that will be released this January 27th 2017, please don’t read the comments, spoiler everywhere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbEWtpSmJXg I think this is going to be a huge success in 1 day reached above 2M views.

The trailer is 100% legit.

Reading vs Studying

I’m a programmer, I study and learn stuff everyday on many topics and areas that can’t even remember now. I have to do it to not be left behind on the latest available technologies that at the end of the day provide more an better opportunities.

I read daily as many other people from many sources from blogs, articles, mobile instant messages, online newspaper, paper books, books on tablet, laptop, pc, literally hundreds of emails because of my work.

The thing is, reading and studying are not the same there are a lot of different processes that are going on depending on what are you doing.

When you read is like when you just ear someone to talk, you can actually learn a lot by reading but if you really want to learn something in depth you need to study.

Study is different that just reading because you need to worry about in how to 100% understand what you are actually reading, when you want to learn something in depth you need to take more time to think and reflex on what you just read, try to organize the new ideas and concepts in your mind in a way that makes sense for the long term and that takes more time and effort than a casual reading and we are not taking into count that you can take notes, make summaries, mind-maps and all the good stuff.

There are some topics do take more time to understand and digest than a reading as I just mentioned before so my best advice is to try to combine your reading with casual reading (novels or fiction maybe) and formal study (the good stuff, more scientific maybe), that way you can enjoy reading something casual when you feel like you want to do it and study something more seriously when you really feel like you want to do it. Another technique that I tend to use is to read a book that you want to study as a casual reading (low effort) for the first time and then do a second read for the long term (high effort) and organize the ideas in a better way either in your mind or summaries, mindmaps or whatever the hell you use to annotate in case you do.

I hope you enjoy your reading and your studying.

And correct me if I’m wrong but there are some topics that you can’t just casual read and learn in depth, topics like complex math, physic, chemistry, programming, engineering, and so on, unless you are a genius.

Print n Number n Times Loop

This is a simple loop to print a number starting from 0 to n. The number will be printed n times.

    class Program
    {
        static void Main(string[] args)
        {
            PrintNumebersManyTimesAsNumberItSelf(20);
        }

        /// <summary>
        /// This will print a number strating from zero to length,
        /// The number will be printed as many times as the number itself.
        /// </summary>
        /// <param name="length">Length to stop, will start from 1</param>
        private static void PrintNumebersManyTimesAsNumberItSelf(int length)
        {
            for (int i = 0; i < length + 1; i++)
            {
                for (int j = 0; j < i; j++)
                {
                    Console.Write(i);
                }
            }
        }
